I contacted AccessRamp to provide a wheelchair ramp for one of my client’s high profile events to which the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honourable David Onley, was invited. The Lieutenant Governor typically uses a motorized scooter for public appearances.
AccessRamp & Mobility Systems was quickly able to provide and install a wheelchair ramp for the event stage on fairly short notice. More importantly, by confirming the legislated standards for the length and type of ramp required, they prevented a PR disaster that could have occurred if the clients had insisted on using a makeshift ramp that was too short to meet code. Access Ramp saved the organization from the embarrassment of not taking the accessibility needs of their guest of honour into account. The event went off without a hitch, and His Honour appreciated how well the ramp performed.
